Geothermal Well

Student fees will fund a $200,000 geothermal well at North Carolina’s Botanical Gardens. The well will be used to heat and cool the new visitors’ center now under construction. New technology allows the well to use less energy than traditional systems. Environmentalists said the well will pay for itself in seven years.
