Meadow No More?

Another idyllic spot in Chapel Hill could be home to new construction.

A meadow on NC highway 54 is being considered for development of a high-tech medical facility. Chapel Hill's Michael Rosenberg who owns a company called Health Decisions, which conducts tests for pharmaceuticals, wants to build a three-story facility featuring 11 condominiums and a huge parking lot.

Because the space is so close to the Meadowmont community, there are many concerns about the development's impact. Critics envision concrete and SUVs, while advocates claim the tech jobs will be good for Chapel Hill.
