Drinking Restrictions?
By Susan Tart
Buying a keg of beer might not be so easy if
a new bill is passed. State legislators are
discussing a bill that would require keg sellers
to issue permits for kegs. Lawmakers hope this
will cut down on underage drinking at parties
and make it easier to find the people who supply
the alcohol to teens. Some students, like Stacy
Dunne, think the bill is unfair.
"I'd rather the person that's underage
be personally responsible for drinking than
the person who buys the keg. I think it's a
little bit too much responsibility on the person
buying the keg," Dunne said.
Other students say they’ll just start
buying cases of beer instead, which could make
selling kegs a lot less profitable.
