Heat Wave
By Kathryn Harrell

A heat wave has plagued North Carolina and people are seeking many ways to find relief.

With temperatures nearing 100 degrees, many people are finding ways to cool down. With these record-setting temperatures, many are staying near the water.

If you don’t like to swim, you might want to stay in the shade. The breeze off the water also makes the heat more bearable.

Michael Easley, a UNC senior, says he tries to stay inside.

“I try to avoid the sunlight as best I can and stay inside near air conditioning and somewhere near a water source so that I don’t have to deal with the summer heat,” he said.

It is also important to remember to stay hydrated when it is hot out. So stay in the shade or inside to beat the sweltering weather.
