Sunscreen Protection
By Kathryn Harrell

It is important to remember to stay protected from the sun by wearing sunscreen. If you are lying in the sun, you should remember to wear at least an SPF of 30. Also, you should apply sunscreen before you even go outside because it takes at least thirty minutes to take effect.

Kathryn Powell, a UNC junior, knows the importance of sunscreen.

“I think that sunscreen’s really important, not only for anti-aging, like I don’t want to be wrinkly when I’m older, but I have skin cancer in my family so I definitely understand the importance of wearing it," Powell said.

Sunscreen helps prevent aging and skin cancer caused by the sun’s damaging rays; however, it does not completely protect.
